Training and lifestyle treatment for people with morbid obesity.
Short description:
The rehabilitation will make you aware of your lifestyle, give you structure in your everyday life, physical activity, and dietary guidance. The goal is a lasting lifestyle change and a reduced risk of disease.
The stay should, in the best possible way, facilitate preserving and improving your function in daily life, incorporating routines for physical activity and regular meals. The course is arranged to help you lose weight.
For participants who have been cleared for bariatric surgery, the aim is to prepare the participants for surgery and the time afterwards.
Suitable for:
The stay with a focus on lifestyle change and training is suitable for those who have been approved for bariatric surgery and are waiting for the operation, but need help with lifestyle change.
Those who have undergone bariatric surgery and need help to change their lifestyle.
Those who are not going to be operated on, but need help to change their lifestyle.
Since you have to move quite a bit between the home, the dining hall and the training facilities, you must be self-reliant and manage some physical activity.
Treatment details:
When you come to us, you will be part of a group of around ten people. The stay lasts three weeks. We place emphasis on cognitive techniques, learning what the body can tolerate from physical activity, the value of a healthy diet, quitting smoking, lifestyle changes, and increasing your coping skills and quality of life.
Good mapping is absolutely necessary. We start with a medical review from the referring agency, test results and conversations with professional staff on arrival. During the first week, with the guidance of professional staff, you must formulate your own goals and expectations for your stay. This also affects the thought process regarding more long-term goals.
The rehabilitation stay is group-based, but is adapted individually if needed.
